Well its true that people should find there own style, but there are some universal things that are good to use as a springboard, and if you're just learning manga style these are good things to know. I mean even though everyone has their own style, there are these common threads. American cartoons have them too.
Sides I've found myself when I'm trying to learn something, and I just can't seem to get it right, but then its explained to me in a certain way by someone, or in a book, it suddenly clicks. So I justhope I can do the same for some people.
Unfortuneatly though, if people are going to copy directly, no matter how much I say its a guideline, I can't stop them.
Quite helpful (well, in my opinion). Because I've looked for a more thorough tutorial to manga style faces, and never found one..now I did. Yay.
And yes, you can't prevent people from directly copying..but at least you stated on the last page that your tutorial is just a guideline. Yet..alot of art tuts are just guidelines..hm.
